June Favorites

It's that time again for my monthly faves for June. This is when I discuss items I've most frequently used this month.

Beauty products: Revlon Custom Creations foundation, Revlon Colorstay in Brighten and in Sunkiss, BH Cosmetics 28 Neutral palette, L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara, Maybelline Falsies mascara, Maybelline Eye Studio gel liner, Mac pigment in Push the Edge, Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Ink Splatter, L'oreal Youth Code Day lotion and eye cream, Garnier Ultra-Lift eyeroller, Montagne Jeunesse Peel-off Masque, Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction lotion, and Gucci's Flora.

Food: Don't mess with me and my hot-sauce popcorn and diet coke!! And I've been killing these $1 smoothies from Mcdonalds...I tried wild berry and mango pineapple. Yummy!

Shopping: I've been going to TJ Maxx and Target at an almost weekly basis...sometimes a couple times a week. This is because I have been shopping for all the things I need for my upcoming vacation next week to Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas.

Revlon Cosmetics Review

CVS has a 50-75% off sale on cosmetics about twice a year I think...and I was lucky enough to pick up a ton of makeup for very inexpensive. I bought stuff from various brands like, Wet n Wild, Covergirl, Rimmel, Maybelline, and Revlon. But the three things that I find myself using almost daily are from Revlon. I picked up Revlon Custom Creations foundation in Deep 060, Revlon Colorstay Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss 030, and Revlon Colorstay Mineral Finishing Powder in Brighten 010. The foundation was 75% off and I got it for around $3 or $4, and both the Colorstays were 75% off at about $3 or $4 as well.

The Custom Creations foundation is a bottle separated into two compartments, one holding a lighter foundation, and the other holding a darker. There's a dial that you can adjust to customize your own perfect shade. There's five adjustments, 1 being the lightest while 5 is the darkest. I'm at a 3. I like this foundation for one because its perfect for spring-summer-fall transitions. I can customize my foundation for when I'm at the lightest to when I'm the darkest during the summer. It's about medium coverage, applies flawlessly, and would work for oily or dry skin. One con is that there's a possibility that this has broken me out. I've changed so many things in my makeup and skin regimen that I'm not sure what it is actually. All and all it was definitely worth trying out.

The Colorstay in Deep I use as a powder to set my foundation and its a perfect finish to my makeup, leaving my face looking sunkissed with a hint of shimmer. This would work well with lighter complexions as a beautiful bronzer or as a contour. I use the Colorstay in Brighten as a highlighter. This is gorgeous on top of my blush or bronzer, leaving my face glowy. This would flatter any skin tone.

Beyonce is Selling Her Album at 49 Cents

It is rumored that Beyonce is selling her new album "4" for a mere 49 pennies. Lady Gaga did this online sale as well, selling hers for 99 cents to boost album sales, and to try to reach a million copies sold in a week. With Beyonce selling hers at 49 she will surely do the same and most likely surpass that million mark. Go Bey. I know I will be getting mine plus a few extra...

Who Shot Tupac?

According to AllHipHop News, Dexter Isaac, a man serving life in prison for robbery, murder, and other offenses, admitted to have shot Tupac inside Manhattan's Quad Studios on November 30, 1994, after allegedly being paid $2500 from Jimmy Henchman. He admitted his involvement in the attack and robbery, even claiming that he knows the whereabouts of Tupac's jewelry, and furthermore is in possession of Tupac's chain. Isaac wanted to confess about this night when Pac was shot five times to start the closure process for the transpiration of the East Coast vs. West Coast beef, which later led to the unsolved murders of Pac and Biggie. The shooting on November 30th is what started this feud. Isaac also wants the mothers of these two to finally have their closure and peace.

At the end of the day, if this is all true, not so sure they will have any closure. He is just admitting to the attack and robbery, not the murder. Until that's solved, that's when they will receive the closure they need.

Do you believe Dexter Isaac? According to Henchman, Isaac is only making these claims because he is an informant with the government, trying to take down Henchman for drug affiliations. Isaac is serving life...he has nothing to lose.

And by the way today is Tupac's birthday. He would be 40 years old today. Happy Birthday Pac and RIP.

Who’s Got Jungle fever?

Due to an update I left on my Facebook today, and the comments that came afterwards…I was compelled to blog about an issue that is rearing its ugly head in our community daily- interracial dating.
I left a status on my page today that said, “Every black man I seen today was wit a white girl. I'm jus sayin.” I was by no means saying anything was wrong with it. I just found it strange to see that in a town with zero to none blacks anyways, and to see an abnormal amount of them today…they were all with white women. So I was just stating an observation.

However I’m not going to lie…in the back of my head I was thinking, “dang what’s wrong with us? Ya’ll can’t date a black girl or something”. Now before you go thinking anything crazy, I’m taken, so its not like I was trying to get on or anything. And as a matter of fact I’ve dated several races including: white, black, mixed, Mexican, Asian, Indian, American-Indian, African, Trini, and I’ve even dated an alien once ;)

But I would love to get some feedback from others…what do you think of interracial dating? And why is black men with white women more negatively looked upon then white men with black women? And yes it is more frowned upon, so don’t argue with me lol. I actually did a research study on this exact scenario in college, and my results emphatically favored same race relationships and white men with black women over black men with white women.

SHAQ HIRED CRIPS?

Now this is some coonery to say the least. Allegedly Shaquille O'Neal hired 7 gang memebers from the affiliation of the Crips to kidnap and rough up a man by the name of Robert Ross. Due to a record deal gone wrong, Ross feels as if he was snubbed out of some money. Apparently Ross tried to blackmail Shaq with a sex tape. Allegedly there was a sex tape of Shaq sleeping with other women that were not his then wife, Shaunie. Shaq allegedly hired these goons to kidnap Ross and rob his home to retrieve this tape.

But now the story gets juicier, it is said that Shaunie had an affair with Robert Ross when she caught wind of the sex tape being recorded at Ross' home.

They need to put this drama on Basketball Wives! Come on Shaunie you have already pimped out half of South Beach for ratings, don't show your morals now!! Haha!

TRACY MORGAN'S DAD DIED OF AIDS

Have you heard all the hoopla about Tracy Morgan and his anti-gay rant at a recent comedy show? Though he is entitled to his opinion...he definately took it TOO far with some of his comments. One comment being that if his son grew up to be gay he would stab him to death. And he also said that gay kids that are being bullied are just weak.

When I first heard of his comments, I wondered if he himself used to be bullied when he was younger, because that's how it seems. Come to find out that he did endure some bullying due to his father having AIDS.

He reports his father was not gay, but did obtain HIV/AIDS, and later died from it. This is what Tracy had to say:

“I know how bad bullying can hurt,” Morgan said. “I was bullied when I was a kid. I’m sorry for what I said. I didn’t mean it. I never want to use my comedy to hurt anyone. My family knew what it was like to feel different. My brother was disabled and I lost my father to AIDS in 1987.
“My dad wasn’t gay but I also learned about homophobia then because of how people treated people who were sick with that. Parents should support and love their kids no matter what. Gay people deserve the same right to be happy in this country as everyone else.

“Our laws should support that. I hope that my fans gay, straight, whatever forgive and I hope my family forgives me for this.”

TEEN MOM'S AMBER ATTEMPTS SUICIDE

Amber Portwood from MTV's Teen Mom, attempted to commit suicide this morning at her Anderson, Indiana home. Authorities were called after she threatened suicide. Amber is reportedly depressed, and I certainly can understand why considering all of the drama in her life lately. Her on and off again relationship with Gary is very tumultuous and as we've seen on Teen Mom, even violent. Amber has been charged for domestic battery and even neglect in past months. She was treated and evaluated at St. Johns Hospital.

Let's pray for her speedy recovery...this is really really sad :(

BABY BIEBER ON THE WAY?

SHUT YO MOUTH AND SAY IT AINT SO! I pray this rumor is just a RUMOR!! There's been some buzz floating around that lil miss Disney herself, Selena Gomez, may be preggers. Justin Bieber needs a whoopin if this is true. First of all...what's up with all of these Disney stars wild'n out. I'm going to make a video called "Disney Stars Gone Wild", between the naked leaked pix of Vanessa Hudgens, and Miley Cyrus smoking salvia and dancing on poles...them little heathens will make me a fortune! LOL!

The rumors of Selena being pregnant began with her suddenly becoming ill, throwing up before performances (maybe some morning sickness), needing to cancel shows...and all that jazz. Hopefully it's just a stomach virus that will be cured soon! Let's only pray...otherwise get ready for 16&Pregnant: Celebrity Edition.

MEETING ASHLEY FROM BAD GIRLS CLUB

Wowzers! I can't believe I didn't write a blog about meeting Ashley from Bad Girls Club 6. I'm clearly trippin. I met her during my homegirl's birthday celebrations in Indianapolis. She was in VIP kickin it with her homegirl when I approached. She allowed me to come say hi in VIP and we chopped it up a bit. She told me I reminded her of one of her friends back home. She also invited me to a party that her and Natalie Nunn was hosting in St. Louis. I was flattered...but of course she wanted to continue to party with me LOL! I didn't attend the party however. Ashley was really sweet and nice, but definately low-key. She wasn't wild as I thought she would be. I didn't see too much of a "bad girl" in her, but I was only with her for a short period of time...so whatever.

30-DAY NO SHOPPING CHALLENGE

Congrats to ME!! I survived the 30 day challenge. It was excrutiating at times, but I did it. The entire month of May (31 days) I did not purchase one item of clothing, nor did I purchase one item of jewelry. The challenge was to choose any 30 items that you already own, and make 30 different outfits to wear for the month. No shopping! I didn't actually make choose the 30 clothing items, but I did manage not to buy clothes so I'm very proud of myself. I can now see the savings, and I want to keep it that way. Of course I bought 3 shirts on June 1st however...lol but hey they were $1 apiece...so that was amazing! Once I got to May 20th, it was easy breezy. My next challenge will be to not purchase ANY makeup for 30 days...omg we will see about that. I recommend you all try this challenge. Good Luck.

MY MAY FAVORITES

Going to try something different on my blog this time, and add my favorite things of the month of May. So the things I’ve been loving and using almost daily is my L’oreal youth code. I’m getting older, so I’m trying to be preventative. I use the under eye cream every night and then I use the day/night cream all over my face. And in the morning I use the day/night cream and then I add the daily moisturizer after that. I also love my Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System…and I use it every night to cleanse my face. If you are interested in the Clarisonic, I suggest you purchase this one for $30, instead of $150 for Clarisonic. My favorite lotions for May have been Suave’s Wild Cherry Blossom and Victoria Secret’s Pure Seduction. My favorite perfume last month was Kim Kardashian’s fragrance. I’ve been using my Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose almost daily, as well as my NYC bronzer powder in terracotta tan. I love my Maybelline Fit Me foundation in color 355. Another favorite is my BH Cosmetics 120 eye shadow palette. I can create endless looks with this palette. I’m absolutely obsessed with my L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara. Last but not least for makeup faves is my Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in Firecracker.

My fave item of jewelry is my gold watch from Target (looks just like the new Michael Kor’s watches) for only $9! My fave song that I’ve had on repeat in my car is “Beautiful People” by Chris Brown. And the month of May has had me fiending over HOTSAUCE! I’ve been putting it on EVERYTHING lol. Well that’s my list of faves for May.
